Lennox, one of the amazing people you see at church every Sunday,
saying something that brightens your day and helps remind you to put a little more focus on the Lord.
He was baptized on Saturday, April 7.
We have been so blessed to be a part of so many baptisms during our time here in Dominica.
And with each of them, I feel that my testimony is strengthened as
I see amazing people come into the church. Amazing.
Lennox is blind, yet he is diligently at church every Sunday- on time- early actually,
waiting at the door to greet you.
He hears your voice and knows who you are.
I am constantly amazed at how he always knows it's me when I am talking to him.
He has been coming for a few years but finally was able to be baptized.
I am so grateful we were able to be here to be apart of it.
Lance gave a great talk on baptism
And Jared VanOrman baptized him in the river.
The Spirit was so strong as he came up out of the water. It almost brought me to tears. Knowing a little of his journey and seeing this and feeling the amazing Spirit that was there. Wow, it was a beautiful morning.
After Lennox came up out of the water he dove back in, because of how good the water felt on his eyes! He told us that when his eyes first started getting bad, he would come and swim in this river everyday because the water helped his eyes.
Lennox said when he came out of the water, he could see Broc's shadow!
This picture just makes me smile! The guys... and Lyna!
We attempted to get a picture with Lennox, but realized that we wanted our kiddos in it ...
By this time, Crew had run off and was trying to catch lizards like a few of his friends...
Those lizards were everywhere. Jonah caught one...
And Jemuna caught one... and one ended up on my skirt! Let's just say I wasn't very calm when that happened.
Lyna!! Love her!
Jemulla, Jemuna, Jemulyn and Josephine
Finally- all of us with Lennox!
And per Lennox request... oh Lennox! :)
The VanOrmans with Lennox
Lennox and Owen!
This is one of my favorite pictures.
Owen is another amazing member here.
He lives in a town that is quite a ways away from the church.
He doesn't have a car, and usually has to get up really early
so that he can start walking and hope to catch a transport on the way.
He is there every Sunday, early. He is to every church activity, without fail
no matter how hard it is for him to get there.
BJ Cook, a previous Branch President here, heard that Lennox was getting baptized. He ask us if we could call him as soon as Lennox had been baptized. Lennox was thrilled, his face lit up as soon as he he heard his voice! It really meant so much to him.
I think this last picture says so much about our journey after we are baptized... our path may be rocky at times, and like Lennox we might feel like we can't see what the next step is that we need to take, but we have a wonderful blessing, the gift of the Holy Ghost. What an amazing comfort! We are not left here alone. Lennox is the perfect example of doing things because they are right and feel right and not because they are easy. It is humbling to see that there are strong, faithful members here- even though they might be standing alone and might get ridiculed for it. Seriously, one of the most amazing things about being here- is being touched by those faithful members.
Broc confirmed Lennox on Sunday, the next day.
I feel so blessed to be able to be a part of something so wonderful.

That post meant a lot to me. My kids used to swim in the river, in that very spot. We have been off the island for more than two years and to see all the people again was great! Thanks for sharing. I'll be sure to show my husband, who was branch president before BJ and also knew Lennox. What an awesome moment!
Crystal, how neat! I love seeing all these photos, they do such a wonderful job sharing the story of the day. I love that your family was able to be a part of such a special day!
This is a beautiful post. I hope that it is okay with you that I shared it with my boyfriend who has been investigating the Church for almost two years.
