Crew's first swimming lessons

July 22 Crew had his last day of swimming lessons. My mom's neighbor was doing lessons and she thought it would be a good idea for Crew to get used to the water before we leave for the island. He started swimming lessons a few days after I had Jack. He had a bit of a rough transition: living somewhere new, not having the attention he was used to, and having a new little brother who occupied a lot of mommy's time. My mom took him to and from lessons almost everyday. What a lifesaver she was. Crew did really well with the exception of a few meltdowns at the pool. He does not like to put his head under the water and hates getting his hair washed because he does not like water to get in his eyes and ears. But he did it at the lessons. He would go under at least once every class.

The parents could come and watch the last day of class. Crew had quite the audience: Me, Jack, Grammy, Grandma Lesli, Grandpa Ernie and Beau! What a lucky boy to have so many people come to watch him.

Ring around the rosies, pocket full of posies, ashes, ashes...

everyone goes under, but Crew! Little stinker!

Even though he wouldn't go under sometimes, this boy still melts my heart!

And so does this one!

Well he passed Level 1 of swimming lessons. He passed off everything on the list, except opening his eyes under water. Oh well, he did great and will have a lot of time to practice in Dominica!
